Mediterranean climate is characterized with a high number of sunny days. So this geographic location is considered to be one of the clearest-sky regions in Europe. Summers are long, warm, dry - often it does not rain for three months and more. Average temperature of the air in August is 28c. The winters are short and mild with the average January temperature of 10c. The sea temperature taken in August is 23-27c.

° CONNECTION TO DUBROVNIK

The island is daily connected 4 times by a ship according to a schedule of Jadrolinija ferry (ticket price 2,5 euro for person). Also it is possible to rent a local taxi boat (price 50 euro).

The taxi service from Dubrovnik airport to the port Gruž (departure point to Lopud) costs approx. 35 euro. There is also scheduled bus from airport to the port Gruž (price 5 euro for person).

There are several merchandise shops where You can buy food, groceries, cosmetics, newspapers as well as local souvenirs.

Plenty of family restaurants (some of them are well known in distant parts of Croatia) will offer you authentic Dalmatian food like sea shrimps, lobsters, fish, octopus, squid, shells, chees, wine, smoked ham, etc,... Of course you can also find pizzerias and ice-cream shops. Nightlife fans will surely enjoy cafe bars and pubs with live music.

Natural beauties and historical monuments are often stage for cultural performances like concerts and folk dances.
